Chilli Powder

Though not of Indian origin Chillies are an indispensable part of Indian cookery.Chillies are dried ripe fruits that belong to the capsicum family.The colour and shape of chillies varies with variety.In general chillies are conical in shape and their colour ranges from bright green to deep red.


 

Turmeric Powder

Dried turmeric is heavy and compact imparting a deep yellow colour on use.There are leaf-scars on the surface of turmeric.The internal surface of turmeric is dark-orange in colour and looks wet even when dry.
 

Coriander Powder

Fresh coriander leaves and dried coriander seeds are commonly used in the Indian kitchen.This sweet smelling coriander plant bears fruits that are spherical with longitudional ridges.These fruits are green when they are tender and yellowish brown when ripe and measure around 5mm in diameter.The fruit becomes dry as it ripens.
